The Election Commission has invited political parties wishing to contest the upcoming House of Representatives and National Assembly elections to register.

In a notice issued on Friday, the commission said party registration for the House of Representatives will remain open from November 17 to 26, and for the National Assembly from November 17 to 23.

The commission said parties must submit the central committee’s decision to participate in the polls, annual audit reports and other required documents. It also asked parties planning to contest the lower House elections under a common election symbol to submit related details with the same application. Parties must also file their statute, rules, manifesto and an electronic copy of their proposed election symbol.

Elections have been scheduled for January 25 to fill one-third of the National Assembly seats that fall vacant from March 4, and for March 5 to elect members of the House of Representatives.
