Nepali student dies after truck accident in South Korea

A Nepali student studying in South Korea has died after being struck by a truck in Wonju on Monday. According to the Nepali Embassy in Seoul, 22-year-old Manisha Dahal from Jhapa was walking on the road when the truck hit him.
Dahal had arrived in South Korea a year ago to pursue her studies at Far East University. The embassy said that the process of repatriating her body to Nepal has already begun.
Parvati Moktan, chairperson of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) in South Korea, said that the truck driver has admitted fault.
“We have met with the concerned authorities to ensure legal action against the driver and to secure compensation for the victim’s family,” Moktan said.
The Society of Nepalese Students in Korea (SONSIK) also confirmed the news and expressed deep sorrow over Dahal’s death.
