Nepal Police have announced a call for applications to recruit 133,980 election police personnel.
The notice was issued on Thursday by the Recruitment Section under the Human Resource Development Department at the Nepal Police Headquarters in Naxal.
According to the notice, applications can be submitted through all district police offices from January 9 to January 15, including public holidays, between 10am and 4pm.
Nepali citizens aged 18 to 54 who can read and write are eligible to apply.
The notice states that the final results of the recruitment process will be published on January 26.
A high-level security meeting in October decided to recruit temporary police as additional support for the security of the March 5 parliamentary elections. The meeting led by Sagun Shumsher Rana, a member of the Election Commission, concluded that the existing strength of security forces is not enough to enforce law and order for the single-phase election. Most Read from National
