In a statement on Sunday, the US Embassy in Kathmandu said it welcomed the restoration of calm and a peaceful resolution following last week’s tragic events.
The embassy commended President Ramchandra Paudel and youth leaders for their commitment to a democratic solution, while also expressing condolences over the loss of lives in Nepal.
It also recognised the role of the Nepali Army and Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel in restoring order and facilitating a peaceful transition of civilian government.
