The Pakistan-Nepal Children Park in ward 8 of Budhanilkantha Municipality, Kathmandu, was inaugurated on Friday.
The park, renovated and upgraded by the embassy in partnership with the local authority, was formally handed over during a ceremony attended by local officials, social activists, and community members.
Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal Abrar H Hashmi described the park as a ‘gift from the children and people of Pakistan’ to the local community.
He also lauded the partnership with Budhanilkantha Municipality and praised his embassy team for completing the beautification and upgrading works, including the installation of new swings, play stations, and a walking track suitable for all ages.
Residents and civil society representatives welcomed the initiative, expressing their appreciation for the improved infrastructure and recreational space. They said the renovated park offers a safe and engaging environment for children, families, and the elderly.
This is the third park project the Pakistani embassy has completed in the Kathmandu Valley in three years, in collaboration with Kathmandu and Budhanilkantha municipalities. According to the embassy, these community spaces are part of people-centred efforts that build on shared values and foster closer ties between the two countries.
