Indian power minister Khattar arriving on two-day visit
The minister to inaugurate transmission line and visit Arun III hydropower project.

Indian Minister for Power Manohar Lal Khattar is scheduled to visit Nepal on a two-day official trip starting Tuesday.
The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation said Khattar is visiting Nepal at the invitation of his Nepali counterpart Deepak Khadka. The invitation was extended during Khadka’s visit to India in February last year.
Khattar and Khadka will jointly inaugurate the 220kv Inaruwa–Basantpur–Baneshwar–Tumlingtar transmission line and substations in Tumlingtar, Baneshwar and Basantpur on Tuesday. The infrastructure has been constructed with Indian assistance. The inauguration will be held at the Tumlingtar substation in Sankhuwasabha district.
The same day, Khattar will inspect the powerhouse and dam site of the Arun III hydropower project. He is also scheduled to witness the signing of an agreement related to the formation of a joint company for a new cross-border transmission line.
On Wednesday, the Indian minister will visit the Muktinath Temple in Mustang district. He is also set to pay courtesy calls on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh.
Khattar will return after visiting the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu in the evening.
