Prime Minister Oli returns home after four-day official visit to China

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has returned home following a four-day official visit to China. He arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport on Thursday afternoon.
The Prime Minister was seen off at Beijing Capital International Airport by Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong. Oli had travelled to Beijing on December 2 at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, Li Qiang, leading a Nepali delegation.
During his stay in Beijing, Prime Minister Oli met Chinese President Xi Jinping, where discussions focused on Nepal-China relations, mutual interests, and areas of bilateral cooperation. Several agreements were signed in the presence of Prime Ministers Oli and Li.
Among the agreements signed were a memorandum for the construction of the Tokha-Chahare tunnel road and another to enhance Nepal-China trade. The Chinese government also handed over certification for the completion of the reconstruction of the iconic Basantapur-based Nine-Storey Palace in Kathmandu.
Additionally, an agreement was reached on the export of buffalo meat to China, along with development projects, economic and technical cooperation, and cash assistance. Other significant agreements included the deployment of volunteer Chinese language teachers and a collaboration between Nepal Television and China Media Group on communication technology.
Both nations also discussed promoting tourism, aiming to attract a significant number of Chinese tourists to Nepal by 2025. Furthermore, Prime Minister Oli extended an invitation to the Chinese Premier Li to visit Nepal.
The Nepali delegation accompanying Oli included his spouse Radhika Shakya, Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba, prime minister's chief advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, economic and development advisor Yubaraj Khatiwada, parliamentarians, senior government officials, private sector representatives, and journalists.
