The death toll from the rain-triggered floods and landslides has risen to 200. The disaster, since Thursday, has devastated various parts of the country, leading to widespread destruction.
According to the latest update issued at 3:30 pm on Monday by Nepal Police, 26 people are still missing while rescue operations have saved 4,222 individuals. At least 127 people have been injured in the affected areas.
Rescue and relief efforts by teams from the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and Nepali Army are ongoing, the police said.
Infrastructure damage has been extensive, with many roads blocked by landslides and floods, severely hampering transportation and rescue efforts.
In a public notice issued on Monday, the police advised the public to contact local police stations before embarking on long journeys to check for potential road closures.
Urging people in high-risk areas to stay alert, the police requested the public to contact the Police Control Room at 100 or the Central Police Operations Desk at 9851285635 for updates.
