The Nepali Embassy in Abu Dhabi has urged Nepalis residing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to refrain from engaging in disputes while under the influence of alcohol.
The embassy issued a notice on Tuesday, requesting Nepalis in the UAE to maintain decent behaviour at their residences and workplaces. The embassy said that UAE authorities had reported disturbances caused by Nepalis under the influence of alcohol.
“The authorities concerned have informed us [the embassy] about the increasing trend of Nepalis being engaged in disputes under the influence of alcohol. We urge everyone to be cautious,” the notice reads.
The embassy said incidents of alcohol consumption and unruly behaviour outside the embassy premises, including the use of abusive language towards security personnel, were also reported several times.
The embassy said the UAE Police have taken action based on reports from on-duty security personnel.
The embassy sincerely requests all Nepalis in the UAE to fully adhere to laws, regulations, and values of the land, and to show conduct accordingly, reads the notice.
