On Monday, police arrested a 59-year-old man from Rajasthal in ward 6 in Dhurkot Rural Municipality on the charge of threatening to set fire to his neighbour’s house.
But the man, who was under the influence of alcohol, accidentally burned his own house down on Sunday night, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Shankar Pokharel of Gulmi District Office.
The man’s wife who was trapped inside the house on fire was rescued by the local police.
The man is in custody now, and action will be taken against him as per the law after further investigation, said Pokharel.
