A forest fire destroyed two houses and an animal shed at Rajapani in ward 11 of Haleshi Tuwachung Municipality in Khotang district on Saturday.

According to the District Police Office in Khotang, the bush fire entered the settlement and destroyed the houses and shed of Sumitra Rai at around 3:30 pm.

Bhabin Rai, a local, sustained injuries as he fell off the roof while attempting to douse the fire.

Bhabin, who fractured both of his legs, has been taken to Kathmandu on Sunday.
