Postmortem report rules out rape, says Salin died by hanging

The postmortem report of Salin Pokhrel, the 14-year-old girl who was found hanging in a school hostel in ward 10 of Ratnanagar Municipality on February 24, states that she died by hanging and the allegation of rape was not established.
“The postmortem report sent to us says that the death was by hanging and there was no sign of rape. Further investigation is underway into the case,” said Superintendent of Police Bhabesh Rimal.
The victim’s family has been demanding a fair and detailed investigation into the case suspecting that Salin might have been murdered after rape.
The body was taken to the TU Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu for the postmortem.
