CIAA files graft case against 187 people

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority on Sunday filed a corruption case at the Special Court against 187 people on the charge of registering public land in Damak, Jhapa in the name of individuals.
Narahari Ghimire, the spokesperson for the anti-graft body, said the chargesheet was filed against Ramdev Mandal Dhanuk, the then surveyor officer at the survey office Jhapa, and others for gaining illegal benefits by transferring the government land in the name of individuals.
Apart from government officials, a total of 65 people in whose name the land was initially registered have been named as defendants. Likewise, 113 others have been charge-sheeted to regain the land, the commission said.
