On Tuesday, the single bench of Judge Tilak Bahadur Karki of Saptari District Court remanded Manoj Ram, a local of ward 6 of Bishnupur Rural Municipality, into judicial custody on charges of making a false birth certificate of a minor girl and child marriage.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Dhundiraj Neupane of the District Police Office, Ram was arrested after a complaint was filed by the parents of the girl stating Ram made a false birth certificate of their 13-year-old daughter and tricked her into marrying him.
Further investigation into the case is going on, said Neupane.
