Man charged with raping a disabled girl

On Wednesday, police made public a 24-year-old man from Dopke in ward 4 of Bangad Kupinde Municipality, arrested on charge of raping a local mute girl on Sunday.
According to Police Inspector Bhawani Prasad Dhamala, spokesman at the District Police Office, the man was arrested on Tuesday after the relatives of the disabled girl filed a complaint.
The Salyan District Court has remanded the man into judicial custody for questioning.
In the district, 16 females were raped, including this one, and attempts were made to rape two in the current fiscal year, said Dhamala.
