Death toll in Salyan jeep crash rises to four
Victims include three who died on the spot; six among the injured in critical condition.Biplov Maharjan
The death toll from a jeep accident in Salyan has risen to four after a critically injured man died during treatment.
Man Bahadur Thapa, 30, succumbed to injuries at a hospital in Mehelkuna, Surkhet, police said.
According to Police Inspector Devaraj Bhattarai, information officer at the District Police Office, Salyan, three people—Top Bahadur Thapa, 52, Thage Gharti, and Karna Bahadur Pun, 29—died at the scene.
Fourteen others injured in the crash are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mehelkuna. Six of them are in critical condition.
The jeep, carrying 18 passengers, was heading from Thara in ward 8 of Bangad Kupinde Municipality to Laxmipur in ward 1 of Kalimati Rural Municipality when it went out of control and crashed at Dhaire in ward 12 of Bangad Kupinde at around 5:30pm on Saturday.
