Nepal, India hold project portfolio performance review meeting

Indian and Nepali officials on Thursday reviewed projects being constructed with Indian assistance.

The discussions were held on ongoing projects in various sectors under the India–Nepal development cooperation framework both under grant assistance as well as under various lines of credit, the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu said in a statement.

According to the statement, the meeting also deliberated on potential sectors of collaboration between India and Nepal in the future.

During the meeting, the Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava, highlighted India’s robust development cooperation with Nepal and reiterated the Indian government’s commitment and support towards working with the government of Nepal in the future towards development cooperation with Nepal as per the priorities set by the government of Nepal.

Finance Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat appreciated the Indian support and highlighted its significance in advancing Nepal’s developmental efforts.

He expressed the government’s commitment to further enhance this cooperation in other potential sectors as well.

The Indian side was led by Ambassador Srivastava while the Nepali side by Finance Minister Mahat

Representatives of concerned ministries, departments and agencies of the government of Nepal involved in the implementation of projects, as well as concerned officers and officials of the Embassy of India participated in the meeting.
