The meeting of the National Assembly has been postponed to Wednesday following obstruction from the CPN-UML.
Members of the main opposition party refused to allow the house meeting to commence, demanding the formation of a high-level probe committee to investigate the recent gold smuggling case.
Despite repeated requests from National Assembly chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina to allow the upper House to run its business, UML lawmakers continued to protest following which the meeting was adjourned.
Previously, UML lawmaker Bhiarab Sundar Shrestha had warned that the party would not allow the Parliament to resume its business until the guilty in the case are brought to book.
