A downpour-triggered floods and mudslides at Kakhuretar in Golanjor Rural Municipality-2, Sindhuli damaged several hectares of paddy fields on Saturday.
The floods and mudslides in the local stream buried the fields which were prepared for paddy transplantation.
According to Daulat Karki, ward chairman of Golanjor-2, the mudslides also damaged the houses of 31 locals.
According to Lal Bahadur Majhi, a septuagenarian villager, it was the first time in 30 years that rain of such intensity had lashed the area.
