Lawmaker Manju Sharma Ansari took an oath of office and secrecy on Sunday.

Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire administered the oath to lawmaker Ansari of the Janata Samajbadi Party.

Samajbadi Party on March 16 had recommended her name to the Election Commission for the vacant position of the House of Representatives lawmaker.

Ansari’s name was second in a closed list for the proportional representation system under the Muslim cluster.

The position was vacant after the party’s lawmaker Shahnaz Rahman died of a heart attack on February 25.
