Rastriya Swatantra Party ministers on Sunday submitted their resignation to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
The fourth largest party in the Legislature-Parliament on Sunday had decided to quit the government and recall its ministers.
The party however has decided not to withdraw the support given to the government.
As per the party’s decision, Minister Khanal, Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Dol Prasad Aryal and Minister of State for Health and Population Toshima Karki, who were in the Dahal-led Cabinet, submitted their resignation to PM Dahal at Baluwatar.
Party president Rabi Lamichhane, who was stripped of his lawmaker status following a verdict by the Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court on January 27 which stated that the citizenship certificate he produced to contest the parliamentary election was invalid, had been adamant that his party should get the Ministry of Home Affairs.
However, Dahal had refused to re-appoint Lamichhane as the Home Minister leading to the party quitting the government.
