A 5.9 magnitude earthquake with epicentre in Bajura district of Sudurpaschim province jolted west Nepal on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Lok Bijaya Adhikari, chief of National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, the earthquake with an epicentre in Mela of Bajura was recorded at 2:43pm.
No human casualty has been reported so far.
At least six people died following an earthquake that struck west Nepal on November 10.
Nepal is vulnerable to earthquakes as it is situated on the ridge where the Tibetan and Indian tectonic plates meet and advance two meters closer to one another every century which results in pressure which is released in form of earthquakes.
