Congress tops seat tally with victory in 30 constituencies, UML follows with 18 seats

The Nepali Congress has topped the seat tally as the final results of 80 constituencies have been made public as of Thursday afternoon.
As of 2:30pm, Congress has won 30 seats. UML is placed second with a win in 18 constituencies.
The CPN (Maoist Centre) is placed third in the seat tally winning nine seats as the CPN (Unified Socialist) is placed fourth with registering victory in seven constituencies.
The Rabi-Lamichhane-led Rastriya Swatantra Party is placed fifth as its candidates have emerged victorious in six constituencies. The party is followed by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party in the sixth position winning three seats.
The Loktantrik Samajbadi Party has so far won two seats and is seventh in the seat tally.
Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal, Nagarik Unmukti Party, an independent candidate, Nepal Majdoor Kishan Party, Janamat Party and Rastriya Janamorcha have won one seat each.
As per the latest update, Congress and UML are leading in an equal 26 constituencies, CPN (Maoist Centre) in eight, CPN (Unified Socialist) in three and Rastriya Swatantra Party has maintained a lead in two constituencies.
