Professor Dhruba Kumar passes away
The scholar died of a stroke, family sources say.Post Report
Professor Dhruba Kumar, an expert in international relations and security affairs, has died. He was 73.
Kumar passed away on Wednesday night at Grande International Hospital, according to family sources. He died of a stroke.
“Today marks an end of academic history,” Kumar's long time friend, Bishwambher Pyakurel, wrote on Facebook. “Our dear friend Dhruba Kumar, my friend from school days, and an expert in international affairs, has passed away.”
An expert in international affairs and security matters, he retired from the Center for Nepal and South Asian Studies (CNAS) under Tribhuvan University. His works on international affairs and security have also been published in many national and international journals and media outlets.
He was a columnist for Kantipur, the Post’s sister paper, for about nine years. His articles were published fortnightly.
He is survived by his wife and three daughters.
