OKHALDHUNGA: Subas Karki, a seed bank operator at Ramailodanda in Okhaldhunga, absconded after swindling a large amount of money from the local farmers. Karki, a resident of Champadevi-6, had been providing chicken feed, chicks and seeds of various crops and vegetables to the locals. He had collected Rs 20,000 to Rs 500,000 from each farmer in advance to provide them with the supplies. “Forty-two persons have lodged written complaints with the police. Some made verbal complaints against Karki,” said Police Inspector Rajiv Shrestha, adding, “We have requested the victims to collect the necessary proof against Karki. Detailed investigation into the case is underway.” (PR)
