Dr Govinda KC, senior orthopaedic surgeon and anti-corruption crusader, on Tuesday reached Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur, to express solidarity with the family of 13-year-old Nirmala Pant, who was raped and murdered here in July.
Dr KC visited the Kanchanpur District Administration Office, where Pant’s relatives have been staging an indefinite sit-in demanding justice for Nirmala, who was raped and murdered on July 26.
“Not only the people of Mahendranagar, all Nepalis are with the Pant family,” said Dr KC, claiming that the government was protecting the culprits. “Sooner or later Nepali people will exert pressure on the government for justice. The government has no knowledge about the consequences of that situation,” he added.
