Kathmandu
The 26-km road section that links Basantapur bazaar with Tehrathum district headquarters Myanglung is in dire state.
A track was opened for the area to link it with the district headquarters in 1985/86. A few years later the road section was connected with the Koshi Highway which was a great relief to the people of the district.
33 years on, the condition of the road section has deteriorated and now it has become impossible to operate transport services.
The road section has been blacktopped for over seven times but the misery repeats itself during the monsoon as the road becomes muddy and during the dry season the overwhelming dust makes the journey insufferable.
