Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Barshaman Pun has said the next 10 years will be a decade for energy generation.
Pun on Sunday took stock of the situation at the under construction hydro-electric projects—37 MW Trishuli 3B, 60 MW Upper Trishuli 3A, 216 MW Upper Trishuli 1—in Rasuwa district.
“We have set a goal to generate over 10,000 megawatts of electricity within the next 10 years.” said Minister Pun, during a press conference organised by Rasuwa Chapter of Press Centre at Syafrubesi. “We will scrap the registration of any company who fail to complete the project by just sitting over it.”
On Saturday, he had visited 111 MW Rasuwagadi Hydro Electric Project, 42.3 MW Sanjen and 14.8 MW Upper Sanjen Hydro Electricity Project. Minister Pun also directed those projects to complete the construction within the slated time frame.
Rasuwagadi Hydro Electric Company Managing Director Madhav Koirala informed Minister Pun that 60 percent of the works on the project had been completed.
Similarly, 70 percent works at Sanjen and 65 percent at Upper Sanjen Hydro Electricity Project have been completed, said Kiran Shrestha, executive director of the projects.
