The Institute of Medicine (IoM) under Tribhuvan University on Sunday finally cancelled the MBBS entrance examinations held on October 14 after it was confirmed that the question papers of the test were leaked.
The IoM took the decision four days after the TU Executive Council authorised the IoM to take the legitimate action on the issue. Acting on the report of police investigation, medical council and the probe committee of the university, the Executive Council had concluded that the question papers were leaked and the entrance examination was undisciplined.
“We have decided to cancel the entrance exam of October working on the directive from the TU Executive Council. The new dates will be fixed very soon,” IoM Dean Dr Jagdish Chandra Agrawal told the Post.
Earlier on October 14, over 15 students and fraudsters were arrested from various examination centres for using sophisticated wireless devices to cheat in the entrance exam.
