After the Supreme Court paved the way for the government to increase number of local units, the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development has started homework to increase local levels in Province 2.
The government has decided to add nine local levels in the Province 2.
Following the increment, the number of local levels in the country will reach 753.
Currently, Province 2 has 78 rural municipalities and 49 municipalities.
With the revision, the province will have 59 rural municipalities and 77 municipalities including one metropolis.
