Bajhang locals have been reeling under darkness due to disruption in the generation of electricity from Surma Devi Hydroelectricity Project triggered by landslides following incessant rainfall in the district.

Bajhang locals have been reeling under darkness due to disruption in the generation of electricity from Surma Devi Hydroelectricity Project triggered by landslides following incessant rainfall in the district.
Locals in Bajhang headquarters Chainpur, Jaya Prithvi municipality and neighbouring villages have been hit hard by the electricity disruption.
Surma Devi Hydroelectricity Project informed that the landslide triggered by the heavy downpour since the beginning of monsoon season has damaged the canal of the 200 Kilo Watt Hydroelectricity Project which was repaired six months ago with Japanese assistance of Rs 850 million.
