Ruling parties, RJP-N meet underway
A meeting between agitating Rastriya Janata party-Nepal (RJP-N) and ruling coalition—Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Centre) — is underway at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar.
A meeting between agitating Rastriya Janata party-Nepal (RJP-N) and ruling coalition—Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Centre) — is underway at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar.
The meeting that began after 9 am Wednesday morning will discuss issues related to constitution amendment and third phase of local level elections.
Likewise, the meeting is likely to discuss the participation of RJP-N in Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government.
The ruling coalition is seeking to bring oboard the agitating Madhes-based party to participate in the phase III of local polls scheduled for September 18 at Province 2.
However, the RJP-N is adamant in moving from their position of constitution amendment prior to the local polls or joining the NC-led government.
Meanwhile, the RJP-N is holding an internal meet, the first after the party being registered at the Election Commission, at 3pm in Bijulibazar.
