Baidya, Chand and Bhattarai couldn’t justify party split: Dahal
CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that there is no alternative to unification of the revolutionary forces, saying that none of the leaders who deserted the Maoists party could justify the reason for the split.CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that there is no alternative to unification of the revolutionary forces, saying that none of the leaders who deserted the Maoists party could justify the reason for the split.
Speaking at Thasikhel of Lalitpur on Wednesday, the former prime minister said, “Some of our friends in the party abandoned the Maoist movement, however, none of them could rationalise the split. All the people who are under the leadership of former party leaders Mohan Baidya, Netra Bikram Chand and Baburam Bhattarai have given a message to them that there is no alternative to unification.”
Dahal said that the ongoing central secretariat meeting of the party will endorse a special proposal and issue an appeal for unification among revolutionary forces.
Saying that the Maoists will lose their credibility if the Maoist forces are not driven by the idea of organisation, Dahal stressed that the Maoists should go to the public as an organisation.
He also said that leaders and cadres of Maoist Centre cannot escape by simply putting the blame on public for failing to fare as per expectations in the recently concluded local polls.
“The country has been running on Maoist agendas. The Maoist-run government performed the best works in the history,” Dahal claimed, “But we could not garner expected votes in the elections. We cannot absolve ourselves from the loss by putting blame on the public.”
