Extreme heat affects normal life in Bardiya

The rise in mercury level has forced the people to stay indoors.
According to Dr Bindu Pandey, patients suffering from fever, headache, dizziness and diarrhoea have been increasing day by day.
More than 150 patients visit the hospital on a daily basis for treatment.
Jang Bahadur Kharti, 68, of Madhuwan-4 said that he experienced excessive heat during the month of mid-July for the first time in his life.
“There is no water in the field, roads are dusty,” he said, adding, “Paddy fields are drying out this year.”
People are also bearing the brunt of power outage in the summer season.
Water level in Babai River has also plunged in July.
