Big 3 leaders meet to seek consensus on constitution amendment

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s secretariat informed that the main agenda of today’s meet was to resolve the constitution amendment bill that has been tabled at the Legislature-Parliament.
The government is working to address the demands of Madhes-based parties and bring the agitating Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal onboard the third phase of local level elections to be held in Province 2 on September 18.
The government coalition partners—NC and CPN (MC)—and RJP-N had held a meeting on Saturday and reached to an agreement to pass the amendment bill within a week.
