Two persons died and another was injured when a microbus hit them at Simle of Dhading along the Prithvi Highway on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Bandana Pariyar and Ganga Thapa.
Pariyar died on the spot while Thapa breathed her last while being rushed to Kathmandu, police said.
Sushma Thapa was injured in the incident. She has been rushed to the Norvic Hospital in Kathmandu.
Following the incident, irate locals torched the vehicle and also tried to burn driver Bhupraj alive.
Police, however, took the driver under control.
The four-wheeler was heading to Kathmandu from Butwal when the incident occurred.
