CPN-UML candidates have won a majority of positions including the post of Mayor and deputy Mayor of Rapti municipality.
UML's Prabha Baral was elected to the post of Mayor with 11,613 votes defeating her closest rival Kiran Bhusan Oli of NC, who garnered 7,292 votes. Likewise, Iman Singh Lama of the same party won the post of deputy Mayor with 11,882 votes. NC's Anita Mainali came second with 7,074 votes.
The party candidates won 11 of the 13 wards in the municipality with two going to the NC, according to election officer Parmeswar Parajuli. RSS
