Voting of Sahare Polling Centre of Tamakoshi Rural Municipality ward number 5 has been stalled after a woman sustained minor injury due to police firing to control the scuffle.

According to Election Officer of Tamakoshi Rural Municipality Bisworaj Neupane, police had to resort to blank fire following scuffle among the cadres of parties.

"Since a woman sustained minor injury due to the firing, the voting of the Sahare booth has been stalled," Neupane told the Post over telephone.

UML reps leave Tamakoshi, Baityaswor booths in Dolakha

Complaints lodged at District Election Office

Accusing the alliance of Nepali Congress and CPN Maoist Centre of capturing the booths, all the UML representatives and candidates of Tamakoshi and Baityaswor rural municipalities have left their respective polling centres.

According to Post's Dolakha reporter Rajendra Manandhar, the UML has also lodged a complaint at District Election Office of Dolakha against NC and Maoist Centre.

The UML representatives including the candidate of Chief for Tamakoshi Rural Municipality Ishwor Chandra Pokhrel have left the booths.

However, election officer of Baityaswor Rural Municipality Chandra Kumar Shrestha said polling was going on smoothly at all polling centres of the rural municipality.

According to Shrestha, UML had not sent the party representatives at two booths of ward number 1, however, the party representatives left the two booths of ward number 2 hours after the voting started.

At Tamakoshi Rural Municipality, police intervened and took the situation under control at around 8:30 am at Jhule-3 and Kalapani-3 after UML accused that the other parties were obstructing voters from reaching to their polling centres.

According to Election Officer of Tamakoshi Rural Municipality Bisworaj Neupane, he was reported that UML representatives have left the polling centres claiming that their candidates were attacked by NC and Maoist Centre. However, voting has been going on smoothly at those centres except Sahare polling booth.
