The suspects were arrested on Monday based on descriptions provided by the girl. The Morang District Court has remanded the two accused men, aged 46 and 52, to custody as police are preparing a case against them.
On the evening of February 10, the accused men, posing as police officers, had stopped the girl and her male friend at Khursane Chowk in Koshiharencha Municipality. They then sent the boy away and offered to drop the girl to her home on a motorcycle.
Police said the girl was taken to a saw mill at Koshiharencha-5, owned by one of the suspects, instead.
The two men allegedly took turns raping the girl throughout the night before dropping her at Khursane Chowk the next morning.
Police Inspector Ramji Katuwal on Thursday said that the duo could be charged with rape of a minor and hostage-taking.
Man held for rape, murder of 7-year-old
In a separate incident in Kapilvastu, Police on Thursday made public an 18-year-old man held on charge of raping and murdering a seven-year-old girl at Shivaraj Municipality in Kapilvastu.
Police said the suspect admitted to the crime during questioning. Sita Adhikari, 7, of Shivaraj-10, was found dead in a local stream on Tuesday, a day after she was reported missing.
