PM announces special relief scheme for Therathum fire victims

A massive fire had engulfed the Bazaar on December 16 causing a loss of property worth million of rupees and burning at least 32 houses.
Addressing a mass during his visit at Sankranti Bazaar today, the PM said the government has introduced a special relief package to the victims for reconstruction of their destroyed homes and resurrection of businesses.
PM Dahal further assured the victims of providing them collateral free loan at minimal interest rate through banks. He said he has already arranged for dispatching fire engine to the Sankranti Bazaar, citing that the heavy loss from fire was a result of unavailability of fire engine in the area.

In his speech, PM Dahal said he has directed Energy Ministry to immediately expedite the works for Tamor hydropower reservoir project and comprehensive drinking water project for the development of the region.
Saying that his visit was aimed at sharing the grief of the fire victims, PM Dahal hailed the resilience showed by Sankranti residents during such adversity.
In a different context, PM Dahal said the government was preparing to implement the constitution and that a national unity was required for its successful implementation.
During his visit, PM Dahal also recalled his earlier visit to the area when he was 22 years old. He was accompanied by former Home Minister Krishna Sitaula, UML chief whip Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, parliamentarians Bhawani Khapung, Ganesh Bimali and Sita Gurung.
The inferno had destroyed 32 houses causing a loss of more than Rs140 million and rendering some 56 families homeless.
