Police have arrested a red panda poacher from Maimajhuwa in Ilam district on Sunday.
He is Dhan Bahadur Rai, 42, of Maimajhuwa-8 in the district.
A team from the Red Panda Network Nepal with the support of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) and the District Police Office, arrested Rai from his house along with camera and a snare.
The team arrested Rai after he was captured by the trapping camera while stealing it, said Police Inspector Rudra Chudal.
Red Panda Network Nepal has installed more than five trapping cameras at Mabu and Maimajhuwa VDCs for the protection of red panda. Investigation into the case was underway after keeping Rai in custody. RSS
