“We have prolonged office hours from 7am to 6pm,” said Heet Prasad Poudel, administrative officer at the DAO. The office witnessed a drastic surge in the number of service seekers to acquire citizenship certificates, passports and other important documents lost during the floods.
According to Poudel, they extended office hours as the workload increased after the application process for rehabilitation of the flood-hit and recruitment process of Nepal Police and Nepal Army started last week. “We will stick to the new working hours until the workload becomes normal,” he said.
