The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell by 11.97 points on Wednesday, closing at 2,646.95. This represents a 0.65 percent decline from the previous trading day, continuing the downward trend seen earlier in the week.

On Tuesday, the index had dropped by over 35 points.

A total of 13,782,468 shares were traded through 59,130 transactions, generating a turnover of Rs5.16 billion.

The daily transaction volume declined significantly from Tuesday’s Rs6.67 billion, reflecting a cooling of investor activity.

Out of the traded companies, 66 registered gains, while 181 saw their share prices fall. One company’s share price remained unchanged.

Of the 13 trading subgroups, only two—Mutual Funds and Trading—ended in positive territory. The Mutual Fund index rose marginally by 0.08 points, while the Trading subgroup gained 21.09 points.

All other sectors, including Banking, Hydropower, and Manufacturing, recorded losses.
