The Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV) has appointed Upendra Poudel, former president of the Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA), as its representative for the Asia Pacific region.

GABV is an independent network of banks using finance to deliver sustainable economic, social and environmental development.

 The alliance comprises of 46 financial institutions and seven strategic partners operating in countries across Asia, Africa, Australia, Latin America, North America and Europe, collectively serving more than 41 million customers.

Poudel has been entrusted with the task of facilitating the activities and commitments of the Asia Pacific Chapter and expanding the network in the region. Poudyal is currently the director of Nabil Bank and National Banking Institute. He had retired last year from the post of CEO of NMB Bank. (PR)
