The Bumper Footwear Sale Mela at Bhrikuti Mandap has drawn more than 5,000 visitors by its second day. The fair was organized by a group of shoe manufacturers to provide a wide variety of Nepali shoes at discounted rates under one roof.

The expo, which will run for 11 days, has showcased a wide range of shoes and slippers of various Nepali companies like Royal Shoe, Smart Shoe, Run Shoe, Paragon, Highlife Slippers and Leather Desire, among others. Party, sports, casual, school and college shoes and ladies sandals are available at the fair.

Rudra Neupane, managing director of Run Shoes, said that the fair had been successful in promoting and branding Nepali shoes among domestic buyers. He added that the exhibition had been providing a great platform for manufacturers to sell their products. 

Bhim Poudel, managing director of Royal Shoes, said that they were encouraged by the number of visitors. “The fair has been overwhelming as we are witnessing a large number of visitors,” he said, adding that such fairs would help the domestic footwear market to grow in the coming days. 

The organizers are offering cash discounts of 15 to 60 percent on the footwear at the fair.
