The 48th Independence Day of Bangladesh was observed here on Sunday. The gala organised by the Embassy of Bangladesh in Kathmandu, witnessed cultural performances depicting the art, culture and identity of Bangladesh. The artistes depicted the country’s ordeals independence and its changing political context. Chiefs of diplomatic missions in Nepal, politicians, industrialists, traders, artistes, were among those present on the occasion. In her brief statement, Bangladeshi Ambassador to Nepal Mashfee Binte Shams said that efforts are on going to further the Nepal-Bangladesh relations. (RSS)
