According to the police, 28-year-old Surendra Karki of Ripa succumbed to bullet injuries after being shot by Rangamal Mahatara, 40, to drive away monkeys at the latter's apple orchard. Karki died on the way to a local health post.

The gunshot hit Karki who happened to be there grazing his cattle, informed police.

Mahatara has been arrested and he has been brought to the District Police Office at Simkot for necessary action, police said.
