The Prime Minister’s Office has established an online monitoring system to see whether the government offices are effectively implementing their fiscal work plan. Each ministry will have to update its monthly progress using a software, the PMO said in a statement on Sunday.
Based on online monitoring, the best office will be declared every month. In case of poor performance, the secretary of the concerned ministry would be held responsible, according to PMO.
The government’s expenditure of development budget continues to remain poor with just 5.51 percent of total capital budget being spent as of October 13, according to Financial Comptroller General Office.
