The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Surkhet, on Sunday arrested Inspector Sushobhan Shrestha at the Area Police Office in Babiyachaur for taking bribe.

The anti-graft body caught Shrestha red-handed taking Rs 15,000 in bribe from a service seeker.

The CIAA team also arrested police Constable Tilak Lamichhane in connection to the case.

Shrestha is learnt to have demanded the amount to settle a case of jewellery shop robbery.

CIAA Surkhet office Spokesperson Janga Bahadur Dangi said detailed investigation into the case is under way.
