An activist at Nepal Tarun Dal, a youth wing of Nepali Congress, was shot dead at Sulichaur Bazaar in Rolpa district on Sunday. Rohit Pun of Rolpa Municipality-2 was shot at a restaurant in Sulichaur Bazaar, according to DSP Dipak Khadka.

Dev Bahadur Gharti of Rolpa-10 was arrested in possession of a weapon soon after the incident, Khadga said. Pun was elected as the chairman of Nepal Tarun Dal of Rolpa Municipality a few months earlier. An investigation into the incident is underway, police said.  (PR)
